Here is a little something: We are up at the top of this mountain in Sa Pa, approximately a mile high above sea level, the sun is out, the wind is blowing, the air is thin but it was so so so damn fresh feeling.
We are at an area where there are tents and people selling food and souvenirs’, this young girl keeps approaching me to sell these keychains she had.
After about 15 minutes of, for lack of a better term ‘begging’, I finally buy one - I ask to photograph her. She agrees to, I then take a Polaroid of her. I give her the Polaroid as a gift back and she becomes silent, everyone is silent.
They watch the Polaroid develop, the girl smiles. The smile of an ecstatic girl who has never seen a photograph of herself.
